Build scalable systems that power vibe-based discovery, real-time recommendations, and commerce integrations.
Join us in building the backend infrastructure that powers vibe-first discovery. You'll work on fascinating problems like vector similarity search at scale, real-time recommendation systems, and integrations with external platforms like Shopify and Stripe. Our stack is modern, our data is unique, and the problems are genuinely hard.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript
- Work with PostgreSQL, pgvector, and large-scale data pipelines
- Build integrations with Shopify, Stripe, and ML/AI services
- Optimize database queries, implement caching strategies, and improve API performance
- Design and maintain REST and real-time APIs
- Implement data pipelines for processing user-generated content and vibe metadata
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of backend development experience
- Strong knowledge of Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL
- Experience with vector databases and similarity search algorithms
- Understanding of distributed systems, caching, and API design
- Strong database design and optimization skills
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar)
Nice to Have
- Experience with pgvector or other vector databases
- Background in recommendation systems or ML pipelines
- Experience with Shopify API or e-commerce platforms
- Knowledge of image processing and metadata extraction
